J. Crew Advertising Campaign

This campaign was the main assignment in my "Introduction to Advertising" class in the fall of 2017. Our group acted as an agency and, with J. Crew as our hypothetical client, we conducted research to identify a problem and developed a campaign around that.

My role within the "agency" was video producer and associate creative director. The creative director and I were responsible for designing the campaign book and relaying the research and results we came up with. At the end of the semester, all 17 groups presented their campaigns and four made it to the final round. After making it to the final four, our group placed second overall and our campaign book was voted first place by the professor.

Among Friends Activity Center

When I was hired as the social media intern at Among Friends, an activity center for adults with special needs and disabilities, I was excited to manage the Facebook account of a non-profit who's cause I was passionate about. In the spring of 2017, I created a LinkedIn page for Among Friends to share our story with a wider audience.

In October of 2017, I created an Instagram account for Among Friends and challenged our few followers to tag their friends so we could reach 100 followers in one week. We had great participation from several organizations and were able to surpass our goal by 25 when the week ended.

End Of The Year Campaign

Non-profit organizations get almost 30% of their funds in the last two weeks of the year. In order to capitalize on this, Among Friends' director developed an end of the year campaign to encourage more donations. The campaign surpassed its goal of raising $25,000. I was responsible for helping with the social media content for the campaign.

The four pillars of the campaign were "Why I Volunteer", "Why I Donate", "Why I Joined", and "Why I Give". These were meant to showcase everything that goes into making Among Friends the organization it is today, as well as what the donations mean in terms of growth. Each graphic was posted to Facebook and Instagram.

LinkedIn Headshots

When I changed my major, I had to create a website and edit my LinkedIn and resume. These required pictures of myself and I realized I didn't have a professional headshot I could use. My university didn't provide anything for this and I had no idea where I could have some taken. I realized that there were probably a great deal of students with the same problem, so I decided to hold my own event for OU students who needed a professional headshot.

After scoping out interest within one of my organizations and receiving positive feedback, I created a public Facebook event open to all OU students. The event quickly took off and was shared by individuals and groups, including Price College of Business and the Black Student Association. The page was only up for the week before the event, but, by that Saturday, 150 people RSVP'd and over 300 said they were interested. Fifty-six people showed up for their appointments; 5% were high school seniors, 13% were freshmen, 13% were sophomores, 32% were juniors, 20% were seniors, and 18% had either graduated or were pursuing a Masters or PhD.
